When will I have passed the course?

You have passed when all lessons and assessments have been successfully completed.

Do I have to take an exam?

No. The e-learning is structured in such a way that after a number of lessons, you take a short quiz (these are the exam questions). This allows you to check if you understand the lesson. Once you have gone through the lessons and completed the assessment, you won’t need to take a separate exam.

What do I need to be able to complete the e-learning?

You need an internet connection, a computer, tablet or smartphone. You can log in with these devices using an internet browser.

What kind of qualification and background do I need for this?

Lean is understandable for everyone. There is no specific background or minimum qualification level required to apply Lean.

Will I need additional study materials besides the e-learning?

No, all materials are included in our e-learning courses. You don’t have to buy anything additional yourself.

Are there additional costs associated with e-learning?

No, there are no additional costs associated with e-learning. You pay a one-off fixed fee and that’s it. This gives you access to your personal learning environment and after completing the training you will receive a recognised Lean certificate from Cardiff University.

Do I first need to complete the Lean White Belt before I can move on to a higher belt?

No, you don’t have to get a Lean White Belt first before you can move on to a higher belt. For example, you can choose a Green Belt or Black Belt straight away.

Do I need to carry out a practical assignment for the certification?

We do recommend that you undertake a practical assignment to help you understand how to apply Lean. However, if this is not possible, that won’t be a problem. Throughout the e-learning modules, exercises are included for each part that will help you learn how to apply Lean in practice. Therefore, it is not necessary to carry out a full Lean improvement process for certification.

Why is a Lean certificate important?

Certification is a recognition of your own knowledge and skills in the field of Lean. It also indicates that the learned material meets international standards. Dmaic.com is accredited through Cardiff University.

How long can I spend on e-learning?

If you purchase a separate training course (White, Yellow, Orange, Green or Black Belt) you have one year to complete the training.

If you purchase one of our unlimited packages (Lean Basic, Lean Advanced or Lean Expert Package) there is no time limit for the e-learning. You determine entirely for yourself how long you spend on it.

Is the price of the e-learning inclusive of VAT?

Yes, the price of the e-learning courses includes VAT.

On which devices can I study the e-learning?

You can open our e-learning courses via a web browser. This makes any of our courses accessible on any device: from tablet to smartphone.

Can I take a break in between?

Yes, you can decide to take a break at any time. And once you are ready to resume, you just continue where you left off.

How soon will I get access to the e-learning?

You will receive a login code by email immediately after payment. So, you can start right away.

Does the e-learning include certification?

Yes, all training courses include certification. After completing the training, you will receive an internationally recognized Lean certificate from Cardiff University.

Is e-learning suitable for my company?

Yes, e-learning is absolutely suitable for most organizations and businesses. For example, you may want to train multiple team members in a short time. As an employer or training centre, you can purchase multiple login codes and your employee can get started right away.

Do I get the same study material as in a classroom training?

The topics of Lean are identical in both the classroom training and the e-learning environment. The content for both covers the mandatory topics for Lean certification.

Throughout the e-learning, the study material is available online and we have incorporated a variety of teaching methods into the training to enhance your learning experience.

How long is required to complete the Lean Black Belt?

The duration will depend on your own commitment. The more time you are able to dedicate to learning, the faster you will complete it. On average, the Black Belt takes participants about 60 to 70 hours.

If you are able to consistently commit to 4 hours of learning per week, you will have completed the course within 5 months.

How long does it take to complete the Lean Green Belt?

The duration will depend on your own commitment. The more time you are able to dedicate to learning, the faster you will complete it. On average, the Green Belt course takes participants about 40 to 50 hours.

If you are able to consistently commit to 4 hours of learning per week, you will have completed the course within 4 months.

How long does it take to complete the Lean Orange Belt?

The duration will depend on your own commitment. The more time you are able to dedicate to learning, the faster you will complete it. On average, the Orange Belt takes participants about 15 to 25 hours.

If you are able to consistently commit to 4 hours of learning per week, you will have completed the course within 2 months.

How long does it take to complete the Lean White Belt?

The duration will depend on your own commitment. The more time you are able to dedicate to learning, the faster you will complete it. On average participants usually complete the White Belt course within 6 to 12 hours.

If you are able to consistently commit to 3 hours of learning per week, you will have completed the course within 1 month.

How long does it take to complete the Lean Yellow Belt?

The duration will depend on your own commitment. The more time you are able to dedicate to learning, the faster you will complete it. On average, the Yellow Belt takes participants 10 to 18 hours in total.

If you are able to consistently commit to 3 hours of learning per week, you will have completed the course within 2 months.

Will there be someone available to help or answer my questions?

We provide personal contact and assistance at any time to answer any questions you may have. Your course leader is always available via email (questions@lean.nl), by phone (058 – 84 33 352), or via Whatsapp (06 – 57 57 57 31) during office hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm).

Why is there a price difference between classroom training and e-learning?

With classroom training the costs will be higher as we need to account for the additional facilities that have to be provided (space, lunch, projector, and a teacher).

With e-learning, you decide when and where to take the lessons.

Do I receive the same certificate?

The online Lean certificate is identical to that achieved during classroom training. The internationally recognised certificate is issued by Cardiff University, a renowned institution for Lean certification. A certificate achieved through Dmaic.com has international relevance and will never expire.

Who is e-learning intended for?

Lean e-learning is intended for anyone who wants to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in their organisation or work. Learning online offers maximum flexibility to everyone who chooses to study in this way.

Will I get the same quality with e-learning?

Yes, the same topics and certification apply so you can be assured of the quality of your online training. The teaching structure of the e-learning content ensures you learn exactly the same as in our classroom training.

What is the difference between e-learning and classroom training?

During our classroom training, you will learn at fixed times and on scheduled days. There will be a Lean trainer present to answer all your questions on the spot.
e-learning covers the same topics that are offered online, allowing you to learn in your own way and at your own pace. The advantage of e-learning is the flexibility, where you can follow the course in your own time and ask questions whenever you need to.

Will I be Lean certified after completing the e-learning?

Absolutely, after successfully completing the e-learning, you will be Lean certified. You will be issued with a recognised Lean certificate from Cardiff University. This is one of the most internationally renowned institutes for Lean certification.
