Free Kanban training
Want to learn how to apply Kanban? This free training gradually introduces you to the principles of Lean. You’ll get practical Lean bites that you can immediately use to coordinate the flow and production of items through visual signals.
What is Kanban?
Kanban is a Japanese term meaning “card” or “signal.” It refers to signals used to coordinate the movement and production of items. These signals instruct the previous step in a process to deliver one or more (semi-finished) products or services.
A Kanban signal indicates:
- What needs to be produced,
- When it needs to be produced,
- Where it needs to go.
The Kanban card is also referred to as an inventory card. When the stock associated with a card is used up, this serves as a signal to start production of the predefined quantity at the supplier or the previous step in the process. There are many different types of Kanban signals that can indicate the need for new products or services.
In our free Kanban training, you will learn everything about this.
Additional information about Kanban
A Kanban does not necessarily have to be a physical card; it can also be digital, such as in an E-Kanban system.
Today, Kanban is widely used in software development and other areas of product and project management. It is known for using visual cards (physical or digital) to track the progress of work across different stages of the production process. This is often referred to as a Kanban board or Scrum board.
In our free Kanban training, you will learn the principles in depth and how to apply them.
