What do you learn during the Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt?

The training takes an average of 120 hours and focuses on strategic leadership, data-driven improvement, and sustainable organisational development. You will work on nine core topics:

• Strategic role and positioning – The position of the Master Black Belt as a coach, advisor, and change agent within complex organisations.
• Culture and change – Analysing organisational culture, selecting effective interventions, and achieving behavioural change at all levels.
• Data analysis – Applying statistics for decision making, explaining variation, and well-founded performance assessment.
• Maturity and performance models – Working with maturity models and HPO principles within improvement projects.
• Strategy Deployment and Hoshin Kanri – Translating vision into actionable goals using tools such as OGSM and the X-Matrix.
• Visual management via Obeya – KPI steering, prioritisation, and alignment via visual dashboards and meeting structures.
• Programme management and securing gains – Structurally embedding improvement results and managing organisation wide programmes.
• Train-the-trainer and coaching – Developing training programmes at every level and guiding Belts through their learning process.
• Advising at executive level – Advising the board of directors and management on process optimisation, strategy, and culture.

What is the difference between Lean and Six Sigma?

Lean Six Sigma combines two powerful improvement methodologies. Lean focuses on speed and efficiency: eliminating waste so that processes run more smoothly. Six Sigma focuses on quality and error reduction, with the guiding principle that “to measure is to know”.
