The Lean Master Black Belt follows the Lean Black Belt. The Lean program structures the acquisition of knowledge and skills via a belt system, similar to the levels in martial arts. Here is the order of the belts with a description of what each phase entails:
- Lean White Belt – Provides an introduction to the basic principles of Lean management.
- Lean Yellow Belt – Builds upon the basic principles and introduces more advanced techniques.
- Lean Orange Belt – This training is the perfect stepping stone for professionals who want to advance to a Green or Black Belt.
- Lean Green Belt – In this training, you develop the knowledge and skills to independently lead improvement and change initiatives.
- Lean Black Belt – Upon completion, you will be able to independently initiate and lead improvement projects, and steer your organization toward perfect processes and continuous improvement.
- Lean Master Black Belt – The highest level, where you become an expert in Lean methodologies and principles at the management level.
The Lean Black Belt is the fifth step and, together with the Green Belt, one of the most Lean certifications requested by employers.
