What will you learn during the Lean Green Belt training?
During the classroom sessions, we focus on the practical application of team dynamics, emphasising the attitudes and behaviours within organisations, which are essential to the Lean philosophy. As well as teaching technical tools and techniques, we develop your leadership, facilitation and communication skills which are equally important for the success of your improvement projects. In the e-learning modules, you will go through the stages of DMAIC. You will learn how to analyse problems and find lasting solutions, facilitate workshops, and lead Brown Paper exercises. You will go through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and the five phases of Lean: Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, and Control (DMAIC).
The Lean Green Belt training is a comprehensive programme, enabling you to apply Lean principles in an effective manner to your daily work. Here is a more detailed description of what you will learn during the training, divided into the five phases of the DMAIC process:
1 – Define: In this phase, you will learn how to clearly define a problem, establish objectives, and create stakeholder engagement. You will learn techniques and tools to scope the project, such as identifying the voice of the customer, leading Brown Paper exercises, creating project charters, and facilitating team-building.
2 – Measure: In the measurement phase, you will learn how to map processes, create measurement plans, and identify waste. You will use tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Swimlane diagrams, MIFA (Material and Information Flow Analysis), and identifying the eight types of waste in Lean. These tools will help you understand the current state of processes and gather measurable data.
3 – Analyse: In this phase, you will learn how to analyse processes, identify root causes of problems, and effectively use data. You will use Lean measurements, analysis techniques such as Run Chart, Histogram, and Control Chart, and tools such as brainstorming and Ishikawa diagrams (fishbone diagrams) to uncover the root causes of problems.
4 – Improve: You will learn how to implement improvements, engage employees, and apply Lean tools. In this phase, you will apply techniques such as Kaizen (continuous improvement), Kaikaku (radical change), Training Within Industry (TWI), Flow, Pull, Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), Kanban, Just in Time (JIT) production, and identifying TIMWOODS (the eight wastes). You will also learn how to effectively encourage team members to generate ideas and select the best solutions.
5 – Control: In this phase, you will learn how to sustain results, implement procedures, and ensure continuous improvement. You will learn techniques such as creating procedures, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), defining roles and responsibilities using a RACI diagram (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed), using the 8D method for problem-solving, conducting audits, and implementing visual management. These techniques and tools will help you to embed improvements and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
During the Lean Green Belt training, you will acquire specific knowledge and skills in each phase of the DMAIC process, enabling you to apply Lean principles to your daily work.
Whether you are new to Lean or looking to enhance your skills, this training will provide you with the knowledge and skills necessary to become an effective Lean leader and make a significant contribution to the continuous improvement of your organisation.

The merits of online learning:
Online learning is becoming increasingly popular due to the many benefits it offers. The flexibility it provides is unparalleled: you can study at a time to suit you, without having to commit to a fixed schedule. This is especially convenient for those people who have work, family or other
Online learning also allows you to learn at your own pace. You can process and understand the information in a way that matches your learning speed. If you are a fast learner, you don’t have to wait for others, and if you need extra time, you can take it.
Another significant advantage of online learning is the cost and time savings. Without travel expenses and with lower tuition fees compared to classroom courses, online learning is often more cost effective. Additionally, you save time that would otherwise be spent on travel or commuting. Additionally, we also offer classroom sessions where personal contact and interaction are possible.
This wouldn’t be balanced if we didn’t also address some of the challenges associated with online learning. While technological advancements have made timely communication much easier, the lack of direct interaction with trainers could be perceived as an obstacle. Fortunately, we provide support via phone, app, or email to compensate for this.
Online learning also requires a certain level of self-discipline. Without the structure of a fixed schedule, it can be tempting to procrastinate. Technical issues can also prove challenging and frustrating for delegates if they are unable to rely on functioning technology and internet access.
Despite these challenges, online learning does offer numerous benefits and opens the doors to flexible and accessible education for everyone, everywhere.
